The 2016/2017 season started on Friday 9 September 2016.
Our home ground is at Janice Crosio Oval, Rosford St, Smithfield NSW. We hold our Little Athletics on Friday evenings at 5:45pm. Joining Smithfield Athletics is an inexpensive sport that helps maintain your fitness over the summer season.
We welcome boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 17 to compete each week in a number of track and field events on Friday evenings. The younger age groups will also be participating in some fun games to develop their motor skills. Competition night starts at 6pm, but please be at the ground at 5:45pm so the night can begin on time.
The season runs between September and March with breaks during the October and Christmas School holidays.
- Little Athletics Association costs and insurance
- Approximately 20 weeks of Friday night competition (depending on the weather)
- Entry into Zone, Regional and State Championships
- Presentation awards for those who return after the Christmas break
Parent volunteers are always needed every week to help in the canteen, sell raffle tickets, starters, time keep etc. There is always something to do and your help would be very much appreciated. If you are interested in helping out at the club, you can send an email via the "Contact Us" page for more information. The nights do not run smoothly if we do not have enough help and support.
At the end of the season, all athletes will receive a trophy at our presentation as per our constitution.
If you have any questions or suggestions about the club or need more information that isn’t on the website, please go to the "Contact Us" page. There is also a map of the location of Janice Crosio Oval on this page.
